FAQ

How do you handle altitude sickness?

Our route is altitude-adapted: Lijiang (2,400 m, 3 nights) → Dali (1,972 m, 2 nights) → Shangri-La (3,300 m, 2 nights). You acclimatize gradually. Oxygen canisters are provided, and your guide monitors symptoms daily. Guests with heart conditions or hypertension should consult a physician before booking.

Does the August rainy season disrupt the itinerary?

Yunnan's summer rains are mostly brief showers — 30 minutes, then sun again. Post-rain conditions actually improve cloud-sea and rainbow odds. All activities proceed as planned; only glacier cableways may pause during heavy wind, with alternative arrangements provided.

What visa options apply?

Lijiang Sanyi Airport is a 144-hour transit visa-free port. Yunnan's visa-free zone now covers 9 prefectures (Kunming, Lijiang, Dali, etc.). Our itinerary fits within all visa-free windows. We assist with route planning for compliance.

Is Shangri-La worth the extra travel?

Absolutely. Songzanlin Monastery, Dukezong Ancient Town, and Pudacuo National Park are the Tibetan experiences international travelers dream of — more accessible than Tibet itself, no special permits required. The drive through Tiger Leaping Gorge alone is worth the journey. ---
